Abstract

Thesis of Japanese Literature Study is “Implicature of Expressive Illocutionary Speech with the Meaning of Thank You in Japanese Anime”. The discussion in this study is about implicatures in expressive illocutionary utterances with the meaning of thank you using pragmatic studies. The purpose of this study was to describe the form of expressive illocutionary with the meaning of thank you, describe the situation contained in the expressive illocutionary speech with the meaning of thank you and describe the types of implicatures contained in the expressive illocutionary speech with the meaning of thank you. The data sources used by the author in this study are the anime Kore wa Zombi Desuka Season 1 and the anime Hataraku Saibou Season 1. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. At the data collection stage and the data analysis stage, the author uses the research method from Mahsun (2015), the author uses the note-taking method and uses the data analysis method. The results of this study show 13 speech data containing the form of expressive illocutionary speech acts with the meaning of thank you, of the 13 data containing conversational implicatures, namely 5 data containing general conversational implicatures and 8 data containing special conversational implicatures. The situations contained in the 13 data are 7 data containing formal situations and 6 data containing non-formal situations.
